THE LIGHT has launched its brand new advertising campaign at a spectacular event, which featured live music, a firework display and the grand unveiling of a 10m x 10m advert. The new campaign features 8 people from West Yorkshire who will now see themselves splashed all over Leeds after being chosen from over 1000 hopefuls to star in the adverts. The special competition held in association with Galaxy radio was held to find fun loving candidates that represent the normal, everyday person and customer of The Light.
Winners Lauren Green, a 20 year old dance student, police officer, Michelle Shann, 28, cabin crew supervisor, Laura Suggitt, 27, environmental teacher, Colin Green, 23 and Fireman Mike Sutcliffe, 26 all from Leeds joined Kashelle Taylor, 25 a full time mum from Huddersfield, Emma Foster, 25 an IT technician from Wakefield, and Community support worker Brad Smith, 28 from Bradford at the bash at Tiger Tiger and gave guests the very first look at the advertisement on a huge lightbox outside the Albion Street entrance to the retail and leisure scheme. The grand unveiling and fireworks display literally stopped traffic as the winners were lifted 30ft in the air to reveal the huge advertisement.
Stephanie James, marketing manager for The Light said: “We were overwhelmed with the number of entries to this competition and the lucky 8 that were chosen to be in the adverts are a great group of people who have really enjoyed the whole process of getting this new campaign up and running. We are thrilled with the end result and the winners can’t wait now to see their faces splashed around the city.”
As well as featuring in the new adverts each winner will take part in a fashion show part of Leeds Shopping week in October and get free flights to Copenhagen courtesy of bmi.
